Later, I wondered if it would open in the Sillkypix that I've got - this is not from the box but a copy (ver 3.0.24 or so) that I picked up. If you are using winxp then I think that you need to update manually as I fear that the setup program only works for Vista!

I buy a Canon compact here in UK that is totally different name than in US, yet same camera.
although perhaps Canon are as bad in that respect. Or, in fairness to Adobe - is it maybe Panasonic that are stupiid in having the SAME camera named differently in different areas. If you have in fact got it that way - then I think it must be the CAMERA designation that it is seeing as 'wrong' - another stupid Adobe error and the one they will have to correct. and I got 5.2 as TWO files - the Camera Raw file AND one named Camera Profiles - BOTH went into that 'File Formats' sub-folder and it worked right away. It went eventually into the SUB-folder 'File Formats' of the Plug-ins folder.

I was really not quite fully sure what to do, so followed my instincts a bit PLUS a bit of guidance from earlier versions. īut just to make quite sure - I d/loaded 5.2 and manually did it all to put it in CS4. I know it sounds crazy, and it's hardly believable that Adobe would let it work that way - but Adobe is. If this is in any way right, then it will of course be seeing 'FX180' in your case and just may not go further. In the mean time we will all have to put up with Silky Pix, oh dear.Īs you probaly have read from that other small thread of a few days ago - I don't have any trouble in opening the RW2 files from my FX150 - and if you still have this problem, I'm still inclined to think that as it is the CAMERAS that Adobe actually refer to in their notes re 5.2, I cannot help but wonder if it looks for (in this case) the 'FX150' that is the camera named as supported, THEN for the RW2 in that camera. Why frustrate us with false hopes! Just let us know when they have a plugin that works, and I am happy to wait. The RAW plugin update site still says that the latest 5.2 plugin opens my files.

I an ongoing struggle to see why the all powerfull Photoshop CS4 with the latest plugin ACR 5.2 does not open my Pansonic FX180 RAW files (RW2 format) I have had this response from the Adobe Support Portal:
